Project: Organic Man

8 minute comedy piece open with Jonny a hustler/money maker type shooting an infomercial live from his living room with 2 men beside him. He pitches the 2 men as potential dates for women who are watching. On one side of Jonny is Alejandro, a man that is pretty built and big and strong and is portrayed as grown using pesticides, steroids, growth hormones and not the one choose with a lower price tag. The other man on Jonny's other side is Tom, a weak looking frail man and is portrayed as pure, grown with no pesticides, no growth hormones, and no preservatives, and is completely organic. He has a higher price tag and is portrayed as the one to choose because he is pure and organic.

Once the infomercial is done, there are some friends in the apartment. The camera man and friends proceed to converse, Chang, a chinese guy with a heavy accent and a friend plays cards with Jonny while he counts money with Tom, 2 women call in for the dates. Project: Amma’s Ashes, a short film

"Amma's Ashes" was just selected by the Access Sacramento film studio as one of 10 screenplays to be produced this summer for the Place Called Sacramento Film Festival.

We're looking for South Asian women, men and teens, including one genderqueer teen/young adult actor.

There is no pay at this tome, but if you're traveling to Sacramento from out of town for the shoot, we can compensate for gas expenses. We can offer the chance to work with some of Sacramento's top professionals in a down-to-earth and supportive creative environment, as well as a movie credit. The film will be submitted to the festival circuit, and developed as a television series.

Here's a synopsis of "Amma's Ashes, or Mystery at the Sacramento River":

As eldest daughter and executor of her mother’s estate, Kaveri has three days to disperse her mother’s ashes in the Sacramento River, but first she must marshal her ragtag family and solve her mother's mystery.

Actors cast in the lead roles will be participating in the behind the scenes of the making of the musical as well as the staged musical itself should it come to fruition.
